Is this relevant to you?

You may be eligible for further compensation if:

You were seriously injured at work

Your injuries have caused ongoing or permanent impact

You’ve lost income or work capacity

Your injury was caused by unsafe conditions, inadequate training, or employer negligence

WorkCover payments don’t reflect the full impact on your life

Many people don’t realise there are different types of WorkCover claims, and that additional compensation may be available in some circumstances.

Not all WorkCover claims are the same

Statutory benefits:

Most people injured at work can access WorkCover statutory benefits, which operate on a no-fault basis. This means support may be available regardless of what caused the injury.

Statutory benefits may include:

Medical and treatment expenses

Weekly income payments

Rehabilitation and return-to-work support

Common Law claim:

Where injuries are serious, and an employer (or another party) was negligent, a person may be able to pursue a Common Law claim.

Common Law claims consider fault and are designed to compensate for the long-term impact of an injury - including pain and suffering and past and future loss of earnings - rather than day-to-day expenses.
